LIFR Appreciation

 

Long Island Fire & Rescue volunteers answer when someone on this island needs help. They leave home, work, and sleep to fight fires, treat medical calls, and run the rescue boat to the mainland. On the island - especially in summer, when call volume rises - that work is not a small effort. It saves lives.

It is often a thankless job. It is not unnoticed.

 

Each year the Long Island Civic Association sends a formal thank-you to LIFR volunteers on behalf of year-round residents, seasonal families, and everyone who depends on them. The thanks belong to the whole community.
